Ios has traditionally an important youth frequentation. The island makes 109 km² for approximately 1500 inhabitants.
Ios preserved a typical Cycladic architecture: cubic mills, houses and hundreds of vaults with white cupolas.
The main city is Horà, the island shelters also the ruins of a Venetian castle of the 15th century. .
